A semester, a month, or a week in Haiti for credit or extra credit continues to be one of the most popular services provided by DOA/BN.
We customize activities for the academic focus of the group or individual, including the arrangement of lectures and experiences with Haitian and other experts, covering areas such as agriculture, culture, development, economics, environment, history, law, politics, religion and vodou, science, women's issues, and more. Academic studies are accompanied by learning cultural realities on personal and group levels. (See our "From A to Z" page for more suggestions on particular majors).
*For religion majors: DOA/BN specializes in explaining Haitian vodou for the western mind as well as designing experiences that are positive and educational for research and study.
**For Latin American studies: Political/social relationships between the Dominican Republic and Haiti can be studied in depth on both sides of the island.
NOTE: Our Internship program is especially well-suited to those seeking college credit for studies abroad. (See 'Internships' for full details.)
