"Every day I think of each man, woman and child..."

Greetings Carla,

I apologize if you have received more than one copy of this personal note. The last messages have been returned, so I want to try one last time at this address I found on your new web site. You and Ari have taught so many people in the world about Haiti that I'm sure you are overwhelmed with messages of concern from every corner of the world. I don't expect a reply.

I will say again: It is impossible for an outsider to know what is really happening in Haiti even though we watch nightly reports from Port-au-Prince on the Canadian television news. I find myself trying to read between the lines of the newspaper reports, looking behind the reporter on the television screen, squinting for a glimpse of something that seems real and reliable.

Every day I think of each man, woman and child I met in Haiti, through your generous introductions. My encounters with them changed my direction in life, and I am grateful to them. I hope that this conflict is resolved as soon as possible. Please give my regards to Ari, Gody and your respective families, and remember that strangers far,far away care about Haiti's future -- and you.

Warm regards,
Linda Goyette
