Transportation choices range from:

Hired vans and buses, for any group size and need, are about $100-200/day relative to length of time required, distance, and size of vehicle. This price includes driver, gas and vehicle, and is a DOA/BN specialty.
Rental vehicles (credit card required) are about $80 (for a small car) to $150/day (for a 4x4), not including gas, which is about $3.00/gal US (early 2005 prices -- note that here, as in the US, prices are always rising!)
Public vehicles, tap-taps, and rickety taxis (normal fares or hired prices).
Flight reservations to cities around the country (Cape Haitian, Jeremie, Henche, Port-de-Paix) are regularly scheduled; other places can be chartered.
