Labadie or Coco Beach – Overfilled with Natural Beauty and Charm

Over the years it has become a popular tourist destination across the Caribbean Islands, which offers native environment, beach side bars, open-air dining locations, natural trails, market place with fabulous arts and crafts items. It is located in the Northern region of Haiti with 260 acres of wooded peninsula. Labadie is a unique place with natural charm and scenic beauty that no picture can really describe.

Labadie is a small village with leafy hills and rich vegetation across the bay. It is an hour west of Cap-Haitain, and is a home to native artisans who sells fantastic colorful traditional articles. The beaches are clean and sandy with local vendors selling their products and performers performing on the beach, trying to attract the tourist’s attention. One could sit on the beach under the tree and enjoy their drink; or they can get indulge in beach activities. Good accommodations are available near the beach, suitable for every budget. Local stalls selling Haitian food and drinks are great to experience.

Few beaches are also attached with the local market, which is a good place to bargain and purchase the traditional Haitian products. Coco beach is one of the best beaches in Labadie, a fenced-off sandy peninsula, which is actually a port of call for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. It welcomes tourists on Monday and Tuesday, and on other days, it opens open for public.

Labadie, a beautiful natural tropical paradise of Haiti, was known as Marquis de La'badie earlier, after the Frenchman who settled in this vicinity in 1600’s. Later, it was shortened to Labadie so that the travelers could pronounce it. The stunning beaches and exotic climate of this village has attracted travelers since past. Today, the world’s largest cruise liner is docked in Labadie. This private beach is operated by RCCL cruise (Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines), who have leased this land for 99 years from the Government of Haiti to develop a beautiful resort.

Labadie has 814 feet long dock, which welcomes the revolutionary world’s largest cruise ship ever constructed with a capacity of 5,400 guests with double occupancy. It has 2,700 staterooms and 16 decks. The complete architecture is five times larger than the size of Titanic, and it was designed for Royal Caribbean International. This cruise ship has a lush green landscape inside called as ‘Central Park’ which has shrubs and 12,000 trees. It is also equipped with Water Park, casino, 21 swimming pools and 16 bridges.

Labadie is a remote, friendly, stunning and relaxing place, which has a beautiful climate and natural environment.
